Chad Stevens
Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar
When Chad Stevens was a small child, his parents and friends and relatives began to notice that after he learned to talk, he never stopped talking. And he was loud. If they had been perceptive, they would have realized that one day, he would be the lead singer of a great Houston band called Element. Not being that perceptive, they just found him irritating. But, overcoming the fact that his family wore earplugs and strangers at parties sometimes informed him that they "just remembered that they had to do something non-specific, but really important, right away," Chad persevered, knowing that there was a place in the world for a person with his particular qualities. That place is with Element, where they give him a microphone and a guitar, and let him be as loud as he wants to. He can scream like a rock god, then bring it back down to the red dirt ground with baritone honky-tonk grit and run the vocal gamut from smooth to shred. And don't make fun of his guitar playing because he has a microphone and knows more yo mamma jokes than the entire cast of In Living Color.

Tim Hill
Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals
After starting his musical career as a drummer, Tim switched to guitar as a teenager when he recognized that guitar players get more respect. And more free drinks. We won't discuss why he was drinking as a teenager. Trust me, it was legal in the seventies. Now, as an older and wiser musician, Tim has realized that it is the quality of the free drinks (Glenlivet and water, thank you), and not the quantity that he should strive for. And his guitar playing lives up to the challenge. Tim's influences cover the funk, soul and rock of the last four decades, with emphasis on the best music of right now, and his guitar style shows it! From jazz to country, classic rock to the latest post-grunge, emo indie-tastic numetal, Tim's riffage is right on the money, and his background in beating on things (drums) makes his rhythm playing super tight, rock hard and funky. I dare you not to dance! |

Steve Bulman
Bass & Backing Vocals
Steve “Too Loud” Bulman is a punk rocker at heart and his amp goes to eleven. Imported from England as a young man, Steve has played everything from metal to jazz and pop standards, but never with anything less than 100% attitude. Today, with Element, Steve attacks his 5 string bass like a pit bull on steroids. A pit bull on steroids with a great melodic sense and a ton of musical knowledge and talent. And those are hard to find. But Steve is easy to find. He is the handsome chap at the end of the bar or the edge of the stage with a smile on his face and a pint glass in his hand. The neighborhood pub or bar is Steve’s favorite place. If he can find a bass guitar, an amp turned up way too loud, and a pint of something cold, he’s happy. If you come stand at his corner of the stage and watch him work his bass magic, you’ll be happy too. Deaf, but happy. |

Joe Sanchez
Drums & Attitude
They call him “Buzzsaw” and if you saw the pile of sawdust and wood chips that used to be drumsticks on the floor around his kit, you’d know why. Joe is the quintessential power drummer, with a background in metal and progressive rock, but showing a subtlety of technique few drummers ever master. Bystanders who get too close are warned to wear safety goggles, earplugs and Depends. We don’t want any injuries. When trying to describe Joe’s style, the words “jackhammer” and “punishing” keep coming up. Also, unlike many drummers, Joe is mentally stable. Which is a plus. Joe’s skills and dedication to the music makes him a great guy to have onboard, the rest of the band is thrilled to never have to worry about the beat. His ability to play virtually any style of music with power, enthusiasm and flair keeps the band tight and the rhythms funkier than a bucket of chicken in platform shoes. |

Brian Hill
Sound Technician
There was once a young man who played bass in a band called Boys Nite Out. As time went on, he grew older and wiser, but with less hair, and somewhere along the line, he gave up playing the bass professionally because, strangely, he seemed to prefer carrying heavy speakers, running cables and tweaking little knobs with lights on them. We're, not sure why, but he seems to like it, and it worked out great, because he became the primo soundman, head roadie and technical wizard for the band that became Element. Somewhere, in the back of his mind, he remembers being a rock star, even if the mullet did fall out, and you'll see him at every gig, sporting a groovy tye die shirt that nearly equals the band's low down funkiness, forehead glistening with sweat as he tweaks levels, adjusts effects, checks connections and runs around like a madman making sure that the mix is perfect, and nothing explodes. We have a motto. Be nice to Brian if you want to sound good!
